Grace Wall-Traylor
I grew up on a ranch in Texas.
When I wasn’t painting or drawing inside, I was following my dad around from pasture to pasture. In high school, I started stealing his tools for various art projects and sculpture work.
I got my B.A from Baylor University, where I majored in Film and Digital Media and minored in Creative Writing. In May 2026, I will have an M.F.A from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Production Design.
I love designing new worlds and creating things with my hands. I am employed through the Savannah College of Art and Design as a Work-Study in the Savannah Film Studio Scenic Shop, where I focus on constructing sets and fabricating props.
Backtracking for a moment: I graduated with my film degree in 2020.
Fortunately, my backup plan was always to be an English teacher.
I taught Pre-AP English II and AP English III for a few years and loved it. I found fulfillment and purpose in teaching at the high school level and have been forever changed for the better by it.
Despite this, my heart continued to wonder about a career in production design. Eventually, I came to accept that teaching would always be there.
So, I decided to return to school, expand my knowledge of production design, and pursue a career in fabrication.
